Review on "Encounter in Space 3D / 3D Cosmic Encounters". Possibilities, opportunities and limitations of Stereo3D TV production, with S3D compact camcorders.

Curriculum Vitae

Matthias Bolliger, Cinematographer, was born in Lucerne/Switzerland. 1994-97 he was one of the organizers of the Central Swiss Film Festival and one of the founders of Arcanusfilm AG, later Arcmedia AG Switzerland.

Matthias studied cinematography at film schools in Zurich, Berlin and Hamburg. Since 2004 he has been working as a freelance cinematographer for feature films and commercial/corporate films.

2007 he lensed the feature film „Chiko“ directed by Özgür Yildirim and produced by Fatih Akin's film production company Corazón International. "Chiko" was nominated for the German Camera Award 2008 and won two German Film Awards the following year. 2011 Matthias Bolliger was the DoP of the hip-hop music feature film "Blutzbrüdaz" directed by Özgür Yildirim with Germany's favorite rapper "Sido" playing the title character.

Since 2008 Matthias Bolliger is intensively involved with stereoscopy and spatial image design. In this regard he has published several articles, has been giving tutorials and lectures and was responsible for stereoscopic commercial and corporate films for Deutsche Telekom and Panasonic. 2012 he shot the stereo3D documentary project "Cosmic encounters 3D" for German and French television "Arte".

Matthias Bolliger teaches at the Hamburg Media School (HMS) and at the prestigious Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg.
