Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Roland Brock studied biochemistry at the university of Tübingen and at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and got his conferral of a doctorate at the Max-Planck-Institut for biophysical chemistry in Göttingen in 1999. Then he was head of the independent junior research group. Since 2006 he holds the chair of Biochemistry of Integrated Systems in the department of Biochemistry. Since 2007 he is also head of the Department of Biochemistry. In addition to pursuing interests in basic science, his group has been involved in numerous collaborations with biotech companies and the pharmaceutical industry.
